Marten Transport’s Mission To Reducing Carbon Footprint

When you realize it’s time to make a meaningful impact on your organization and the environment, solar energy oftentimes becomes an inspiring choice. With solar power, you can lead the way to sustainability and reduce your carbon footprint, all while saving on operating costs. Marten Transport, an international transportation and logistics company that began in 1946 with a single milk truck in rural Wisconsin, exemplifies the transformative power of embracing innovation. In recent years, that has meant embracing the power and value of solar energy.

Given the nature of the transportation industry, which involves operating thousands of trucks and requires maintenance for the safety of drivers, employees, and products, Marten began seeking ways to significantly reduce their ever-increasing energy costs and associated carbon footprint. Embracing solar energy was a key factor in their sustainability decision, demonstrating their commitment to environmental responsibility while enhancing the operational efficiency brought on by renewables.

In 2018, Marten Transport partnered with All Energy Solar as their solar provider. This decision was based on the company’s stability and capacity to offer a turnkey approach to their organization’s diverse needs. The partnership kicked off with three locations in Mondovi, WI, and has since led to 17 additional projects and installations across nearly a dozen different U.S. states.

Choosing All Energy Solar was one of the smartest things we have done here at Marten Transport,” said David Meyer, Senior Vice President at Marten Transport. “We were so impressed with the team’s transparency throughout the process that we decided to work with them across our whole network around the U.S.”

Over roughly seven years, Marten’s nationwide network of facilities has completed rooftop solar arrays, parking lot solar canopies, and battery storage systems, yielding over 2.5MW of renewable energy generation.
