Home batteries store excess energy generated by your home solar system, and provide backup power when you need it. You can also earn rewards by enrolling your home battery storage system in Eversource’s ConnectedSolutions Demand Response program in Massachusetts.
With a ConnectedSolutions Demand Response program agreement, you can be rewarded by permitting Eversource to use the energy stored in your battery at times of high demand.
Incentive per average kW used | $275 |
Season Dates | June 1- September 30 |
Number of Events | 30-60 |
Event Duration | 3 hours |
Timing | 3 – 8 p.m. |
Incentives for home batteries are based on the average kilowatt (kW) used per event, averaged over the season. All events will occur between 3 and 8 p.m. If there is extreme weather in the forecast, Eversource will not draw energy from your battery.
How much you earn is based on the average kW your battery contributes per event. A typical home battery could contribute an average of 5 kW per event. This would earn $1,375 per year. It should be noted that batteries of different sizes and manufacturers can contribute different amounts during events according to their capacity.
Your battery or inverter must be from an approved manufacturer. All Energy Solar is a trusted installer for a number of qualified manufacturers including Enphase, Solar Edge, Tesla, and more.
This program can be used in combination with the 30 percent federal tax credit to make a home battery and solar power system more affordable to many.
