All Energy Solar is seeking a managerial role within our commercial solutions department. This role would be responsible for managing the Designer/Estimator teams along with working closely with the Commercial Sales Team, Project Management teams, and Operations teams. A successful candidate will have extensive experience working in the solar energy industry and have a working knowledge of the national electric code, building codes, and industry and engineering standards. Previous managerial experience is preferred. This role reports to the VP of Design and Engineering but has close working relationships with many of the organization’s leaders.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the workflow of design tasks in alignment with operational needs
- Manage estimating work according to sales requirements
- Manage employees: designers & estimators
- Administer the tools and databases we use to do design & estimating work
- Develop procedures and processes used by the commercial solutions team
- Conduct energy analysis for C&I energy users to analyze economic impacts of PV & BESS projects
- Do estimates and designs
- Research products
- Write scopes for outside parties to bid, including engineers, consultants, and subcontractors
- Specify equipment requirements to vendors
- Collaborate with outside parties including engineers, jurisdictions, subcontractors
- Answer questions from sales team/ops team/design team
- Answer technical questions from clients
- Tasks related to having an understanding of:
- PV systems & related components
- BESS
- NEC
- IEEE
- Utility requirements for PV
- AHJ requirements for PV
- Wind/Snow load design of PV & related equipment
- Data acquisition systems
- Relay logic
- 3-phase & 1-phase power systems
- Installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of PV equipment
- Contract writing and negotiations with owners and subcontractors
- Project management
Skills/Qualifications
- Previous managerial experience
- Ability to utilize spreadsheets, CRM, ERP and to learn new software programs
- Solar industry knowledge and experience, specifically relating to the design and installation of electrical and mechanical photovoltaic components and systems
- Knowledge and experience in electrical construction industry
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with leaders in different departments
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to travel approximately 5% of the time and work in commercial field conditions
Compensation
- This is a full-time exempt position with an expected salary from $100,000-$125,000
- PTO accrued up to 80 hours in the first year, increasing to 120 hours after the first year
